Wine That Loves

This entrepreneurial business designed wines
to pair with common weeknight meals.

Challenge & Goal

We wanted to create an offering to improve people’s access to and experience with wine.

Approach & process

We first sought to find the ways in which people were inhibited from fully enjoying wine. Once we had determined that very few people ever experience a truly good wine and food pairing, we sought to demystify this experience and make it accessible. We did qualitative and quantitative research to discover common weeknight meals, and wine-tasting and grape research (with a respected sommelier) to come up with our pairings.

Key insights and impact

Our wines offered quality far beyond their price point, and the pairings were excellent. While consumers welcomed the concept, and Oprah featured it in her magazine, wine retailers were challenging gate-keepers. We never made it into Whole Foods, where our goal was to be on end-caps near the prepared foods sections.
